The bands front man Daniel Lancaster had this to say about the songs inspiration, ““I was in quite a rut when this chorus lyric and melody began to form in my mind. I was walking from work to my new, but temporary home. Having recently separated from a serious relationship I was distraught, and sleep deprived as it started to rain. All I could think about was running back to the oppressing, yet familiar place I had been so complacent with. Hints the line in the chorus “I prevent myself from getting over you.” As cheesy as it sounds, I feel like it was exactly what was happening to me. It is honest.”
