Country singer Emily Hackett has released her new song “Josie,” as a message to young girls who are trying to grow up to fast. Talking about the song’s inspirations Hackett says, “Often times in high school and middle school we think we have to do, look, act a certain way for guys to pay attention to us and to be popular, and it’s such a dangerous thing if you are not aware of who you are and if you’re too focused on being cool,” Emily explains on the meaning of the track. “This is just a song to all of the young girls who are trying to grow up too fast.”
Hackett will be releasing her upcoming EP By The Sun on September 21’st.
